The Muse Wellbeing PSHE Scheme of Work

Created by experienced UK teachers and curriculum leaders, the Muse Wellbeing PSHE scheme of work is built to help pupils grow in knowledge, empathy and confidence as they move through primary school. Learning develops through a spiral approach that revisits key concepts with greater depth as pupils grow. Each lesson connects to one of the five Muse Core Values…

One.
Mental and Physical Health

Two.
Positive and Respectful Relationships

Three.
Global Citizenship and Community Care

Four.
Personal Growth
and Economic
Wellbeing

Five.
Digital
Citizenship and
Online Safety

These core values form the framework of our wellbeing scheme of work and ensure consistent, age appropriate learning across all year groups. Together they nurture empathy, resilience and a strong sense of identity, helping pupils flourish both in school and in life.

Our Approach to Planning PSHE and RSE Lessons

All Muse Wellbeing lessons are organised for confident delivery and designed to save teachers time. The lesson slides are designed with a vibrant, updated visual style that keeps pupils engaged while maintaining clear structure and flow for staff.

Every lesson comes with printable resources and extension ideas that make planning easier and support meaningful classroom discussion. All materials are available online, giving teachers quick access to PSHE lesson plans, classroom slides and supporting learning resources for every year group

RSE and Safeguarding in the Curriculum

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) became statutory in 2020 as part of the national Relationships and Health Education framework. The Muse Wellbeing curriculum integrates RSE across all year groups, helping pupils learn about respect, consent, kindness and personal boundaries through age appropriate PSHE lessons. Each lesson includes clear guidance and carefully written content to support teachers when introducing sensitive topics such as puberty.

Fully aligned to DfE 2025 Relationships and Health Education guidance.

Reinforces whole school safeguarding through personal safety and responsibility.

Promotes respect, kindness and healthy personal boundaries in every year group.

Supports teachers with clear guidance for sensitive RSE and wellbeing topics.

Safeguarding is at the heart of the Muse Wellbeing curriculum. Each topic promotes safety and responsibility, supporting whole-school safeguarding policies. Teachers receive clear guidance to deliver PSHE and RSE safely, while families and parents stay informed about lesson content and sensitive topics.

PSHE Resources for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, pupils build confidence, empathy and self awareness through structured PSHE and RSE lessons and activities. Throughout both Key Stages, pupils explore themes of friendship, safety, respect and responsibility, revisiting these ideas with greater depth and maturity each year. Planned by experienced UK teachers, curriculum leads and SEND specialists, the Muse Wellbeing scheme of work supports clear progression of learning across all year groups and Key Stages.
